Up with People - University Partners & Affiliates

Four colleges in the

USA

have established educational partnerships or affiliations with Up with People to serve students that continue their education after completing the our program.

University Partners

Students participating in Up with People may earn 16-29 academic credits retroactively for their experience in the program.

Partner universities award their specific academic credit in the form of equivalent course (e.g. Communications 201) or a semester's worth of credit for the comprehensive 5 1/2-month Up with People semester. Up with People has benefited from these partnerships through an outstanding student base. In turn, alumni have gone on to attend both undergraduate and graduate levels of study, employing their international education and leadership experiences with Up with People.

University Affiliates

Affiliate universities assist their own students and enable them to earn academic credit during their semester with the Up with People global education program. This enables students to arrange their own independent studies with the affiliate University and use their own federal financial aid and/or other scholarships while traveling with Up with People.

We currently have an affiliation with the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ. An affiliation with Up with People is a mutually beneficial, non-exclusive agreement and universities may include the Up with People program on their list of approved study abroad programs.

University partnerships and affiliations offer tremendous benefits to both the university and Up with People, and most importantly, the student.

In addition, based on university specifications, students have the option of setting up and independent study that can be applied during the semester long program. Students are responsible for creating their own independent study with their degree seeking university if they so desire.

Over the years, educational institutions have given Up with People alumni credit for the hands-on learning that takes place in the Up with People program. The following is a partial list of colleges and universities that alumni have recorded as receiving credit for the Up with People experience. Since UWP does not have prearranged agreements with all universities, independent studies should be arranged by the individual student and the academic advisor at his/her school.
